Day 36… Play Time
Do you take time out to play throughout the day? Or has life become a bit too serious for you?
As I was journaling about today’s topic in Money and Miracles, I wondered what would happen if schools and universities continued having play time as part of the curriculum… Or what if daily play time was just part of life, regardless of our age?
One of the questions asks:
In which area of your life could you lighten up? How have you taken yourself, life or business too seriously?
How might that play out with money? Haha, pun sort of intended!
Seriously, though… ever since I started to follow my joy sprinkle trail, I’ve been an advocate for growth through joy. That does not mean that life is all roses and peaches. In fact, what I’ve discovered is that it takes tremendous courage to let go of the rules of limitation which cultural conditioning has imprinted within our psyches. It takes courage to question beliefs and values that have been passed down through the generations as truth and let go of what doesn’t resonate, even if everyone else thinks you’re crazy.
The ‘no pain, no gain’ mindset is still alive and well in our world. Fortunately it doesn’t have to be that way, even if you played that game for many years. Unless of course you really dig pain.
I’ve noticed that by taking time to discover what is joyful, fun and playful for me in each moment, I’ve been honouring the magical child within myself… the one who sees the world through eyes of wonder and knows magic… and who can be a great ally to help me lighten up when I start taking life too seriously. Or when there’s just a lot going on all at once.
What was joyful, fun and playful for me today? Going to the beach and playing with the waves as they crashed on the shore without getting drenched; taking the dogs I’m looking after for a walk and seeing one of them jumping joyfully through the park; picking blueberries off the bushes in the garden… these are just a few of the things that delighted me today.
I’d love you to share your definition of play and how you incorporate play into your everyday life. If you feel like sharing, then go ahead and leave a comment below.
I invite you to share your experiences by leaving a comment. Which dreams have you let go of? Which dreams remained or emerged?

See you for day 37.
Until then, go forth and let joy be your guide to a life that’s worth waking up for.
